Due to space constraints two frames where set inside each other and mounted between two rotary drives. The actuators of the desired linear movements of the inner frame is actually set inside the stationary machine structure and fed trough the rotaries with steel ropes. The ropes are guided through the frames and their combined movement causes the frames to move in two degrees of freedom depending on whether one drive or both are turning. Truly spectacular.
