Max. load Fy

Force that the positioning system can absorb transverse to the drive direction.

How will the maximum load Fy be recorded?

The maximum load Fy, the permissible lateral force of the positioning system, will initially be calculated theoretically. During the development of the positioning system, this force is tested and verified in practice. Afterwards, this value is considered a verified product characteristic.

The positioning system is able to absorb this lateral force permanently. The lateral force Fy exerted can have an overriding influence on the achievable straightness deviation parameter.

The maximum load Fy is primarily defined by the mounting and structural rigidity of the positioning system. If identical systems are assembled in a XY configuration, Fy is equal to Fx, since the actuating force of this positioning system works in both directions.
