XY-Z portals are particularly suitable for applications where large areas must be traversed with high precision and where both the object under measurement and the deployed sensors can be moved. The kinematic concept is based on a YZ positioning system combined with horizontal X axes. This configuration enables the modular integration of multiple processes while providing high structural stiffness, a compact design, and a high natural frequency of the overall system. The functional separation and targeted arrangement of the axes result in a structurally clearer and more powerful system compared to conventional gantry designs.
