Max. speed

Maximum speed (instantaneous speed) that the positioning system can at most reach with a typical load for a short moment.

For spindle systems, this is approximately twice the positioning speed and is largely independent of the load and movement cycle. Here, the final drive torque of the motor is crucial, given the moment of inertia of the spindle. For systems with a linear motor, the top speed results from the load and movement cycle. The main limitation here is the heating of the motor coils.
