Linear Scale

Linear measuring systems consist of a scale and a read head.

Linear measuring systems consist of a scale and a read head. Depending on the accuracy class, the scales can be used for different resolutions. The measuring head uses either optical or inductive information from the scale to determine the exact position of the slide. There are incremental and absolute measuring systems. While incremental measuring systems always require a reference travel, the absolute measuring system provides information of the exact position at any time.
