Large transmission positioning system for high-precision screening tasks

This high-precision XY-Z positioning system with large aperture enables measurement from both sides or by means of transmitted light. A customized microscope, camera or sensor can be attached in the Z-direction. The microtiter well plates are moved on the KDT600-EDML XY stage under the Z-axis. Up to 12 well plates can be placed with a travel distance of 350 mm above the large transmitted light of 400 mm. Transillumination of the samples from below ensures perfect screening of bioreactions.

  • Reduced loading cycles due to the large aperture of 400 x 400 mm
  • Short scan times due to accelerations of up to 3 m/s2 and top speeds of 500 mm/s, even in start-stop mode

Cost-optimized alternative for air bearing systems

The use of polished cross roller bearings and ground plates achieves a repeatability of ± 0.15 µm in straightness and flatness. The positioning system is designed for maximum repeatability and, by means of compensation, achieves accuracies previously reserved exclusively for air bearing systems. With comparable performance, it is significantly more cost-effective. When maintenance is required, the system can simply be disconnected from the housed cable guide. This shortens maintenance and simplifies integration.
